Communications Coordinator

Job Summary

The Communications Director will lead in setting the direction as well as the strategic implementation of all internal and external communications to consistently articulate, enable and fulfill Grace Community Church and Grace Preschool’s mission and vision. This individual will be a creative, innovative, strategic thinker and a results-driven team leader and administrator.

Primary Responsibilities

Website

  • Lead all efforts related to the creation and development of Grace Community Church and Grace Preschool’s websites.
  • Proactively work to make sure Grace Community Church and Grace Preschool maintains an effective presence on the web including style/presence, search engines, new technology.
  • Coordinate webpage maintenance—ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) are posted regularly.

Promotions

  • Develop a system to organize, prioritize and communicate promotional items related to Grace Community Church and Grace Preschool.
  • Create communication strategies to market, inform, and promote teaching series, big events and other campaigns assigned.
  • Oversee all written materials related to promotions.

Social Media

  • Manage ongoing social media messaging and communication strategies,
  • Creatively build followings on various social media outlets including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Design and Brand Management

  • Lead efforts to design all art and promotional materials related to church-wide activities with a high standard of creativity, excellence and effectiveness.
  • Works with and volunteer artists to develop graphic designs.
  • Monitor the look, vibe and feel of all promotional materials representing Grace Community Church and Grace Preschool.
  • Oversee the use of logos and images that represent Grace Community Church and Grace Preschool.

Video Content Creation

  • Produce, film, and edit videos for testimonies, promotions, campaigns, special events, etc.

Media Relations

  • Create positive relationships with local and national media.
  • Oversee efforts related to securing or responding to media attention.
  • Develop policy and procedures related to media relations.

Volunteer Teams

  • Develop volunteer teams as deemed necessary to accomplish communication goals.
  • Enlist, equip and encourage qualified volunteers such as artists, designers, photographers and writers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Required

  • Ability to coordinate several projects at one given time.
  • Work well under deadlines and pressure.
  • Communication skills: Pleasant and professional phone skills.
  • Have knowledge of all happenings at Grace and be able to coordinate the unique schedules (a leader and Christ-centered life).
  • Because of the nature of the role, this person must demonstrate a high level of trust and the ability to protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality. Additionally, the willingness to learn new skills, work as a team player, and overall.
  • Ability to be flexible and work well with the public.
  • Honor God above all else.
  • A heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to help others find and follow Jesus
  • Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies.
  • Demonstrable competency in Adobe Creative Suite for design. Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro for video editing. Website management systems.
  • Proven ability to take projects from beginning to end
  • Action-oriented and displays focus, passion and initiative. Take appropriate action when something needs to be done.
  • Relates well to all kinds of people, builds effective relationships, communicates effectively both interpersonally and corporately.
  • Organized, creative thinker and highly productive, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have effective verbal, writing, editorial, and publishing skills (good with words and spelling).
  • Committed to improvement, seeks constructive criticism, understands strengths and weaknesses.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Be willing to sign Grace’s Statement of Faith.

Education and Experience

Degree in Communications, media or related field preferred, or a minimum of 3-5 years experience in Communications. The successful individual will have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Gmail and Google applications. Have the ability to mulit-task and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Grace Preschool Lead Teacher

Grace Preschool is looking for Lead Teachers. We are hiring talented and loving teachers who want to work in a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes professional development and continued education. At Grace we strongly feel that happy and well cared for teachers create high-quality loving environments.

Lead Teachers are responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate educational experience for young children in a 5-star setting. The lead teacher is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth of the participants in their assigned classes. This person is responsible for developing creative and developmentally appropriate lesson plans and implementing them in their classrooms. The lead teacher must work in cooperation with the teacher assistant and all other personnel of Grace Community Church.

Grace Preschool Assistant Teacher

Grace Community Church in Marion is looking for teacher assistants for the new preschool. The school is scheduled to open Feb. 1st. We have Lakeshore classrooms, competitive pay, incredible work environment, and more! We will be working toward 5 stars and will have low ratio classrooms.

Teacher assistants are responsible for assisting lead teachers in the classroom and providing a safe and developmentally appropriate educational experience for young children in a 5 star setting. The teacher assistant is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth of the participants in their assigned classes. She/he should serve as a team member in developing creative lesson plans and implementing them in their classrooms. The teacher assistant must work in cooperation with the lead teacher and all other personnel of Grace Community Church.
